Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Product Owner to lead the development and lifecycle of strategic products and services. You will own customer journeys, drive product strategy, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver value in an Agile environment.

You will influence stakeholders, prioritise backlogs, and analyze market feedback to inform product direction, ensuring regulatory and risk considerations are addressed throughout the process.

• Experience prioritising and managing product backlogs.

• Financial services experience (highly valued).
• Knowledge of payment schemes and payment networks (highly valued).
• International payments experience (highly valued).
• Foreign exchange (FX) knowledge (highly valued).
• Experience supporting Run the Bank activities (highly valued).
• Skills in risk & controls, change & transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing and new products and/or services.
• Own related customer and colleague journeys where applicable.
• Develop product strategy and drive change through Barclays execution teams.
• Make key decisions throughout the product lifecycle and own outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank.
• Develop customer-level strategies and solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Act as a subject matter expert, guiding and advising stakeholders on products, propositions, and journeys.
• Develop product propositions and/or service strategy, define delivery priorities, and lead execution.
• Develop commercial and business models based on financial drivers of the relevant P&L.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, legal compliance, and risks associated with new products.
• Monitor market trends and analyze feedback through prototypes, user testing, and beta programs.
• Manage launch plans and technical deployments, including timelines, marketing, training, and communications.
• Monitor adoption, usage, customer satisfaction, complaints, and revenue metrics.
