Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group in Edinburgh is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and evolve modern payment solutions. You will work in the Payments Services Platform team, delivering secure, scalable services and collaborating with product and engineering partners.

You’ll contribute to engineering best practices, mentor teammates and help improve platform reliability, performance and security in a hybrid, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software using Java.
• Experience supporting automated delivery pipelines and deployment automation.
• Ability to deliver reliable, scalable software while balancing customer and regulatory needs.
• Strong analytical and collaborative skills within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and enhancing payment services within a collaborative agile feature team.
• Delivering scalable, resilient software using microservices and event-driven systems.
• Developing cloud-native solutions and improving platform reliability, performance and security.
• Working with product, engineering and industry partners to shape future payment solutions.
• Supporting software lifecycle activities including testing, automation, deployment and improvement.
