Job summary

THG Ingenuity is hiring a Payment Performance Analyst to ensure payment methods operate to an optimal standard and to minimise revenue loss from avoidable payment failures.

The role tracks payment acceptance, investigates issues with PSPs and providers, and collaborates with Technology, Product, Finance and Commercial teams to implement measurable improvements. You will own payment-performance reporting and incident escalation.

Qualifications

• Experience in payments, ecommerce or financial services
• Strong understanding of online payment journeys and PSPs
• Experience analysing payment acceptance or transaction performance data
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, root causes and opportunities
• Experience working with PSPs, acquirers or payment partners
• Ability to coordinate technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong communication and ability to explain complex issues clearly
• Commercial awareness of how payment performance affects revenue and customer experience
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple investigations and actions

Responsibilities

• Monitor payment performance across cards, digital wallets, PayPal, BNPL and other methods
• Track authorisation, acceptance and completion rates by brand, market, payment method and provider
• Identify deterioration, unusual trends and gaps
• Develop alerts and thresholds for issues
• Maintain regular reporting explaining performance and actions
• Investigate failures and determine root causes
• Recommend changes to improve acceptance while balancing fraud controls
• Measure impact of changes on revenue and customer experience
• Maintain a prioritised payment optimisation roadmap
• Act as the operational contact for PSPs and providers
• Challenge providers where performance falls below expectations
• Hold regular performance reviews and track actions to completion
• Compare provider performance across markets and payment types
• Support commercial discussions with performance evidence
• Coordinate with Technology, Product, Finance, Fraud, Treasury and Customer Experience
• Translate payment issues into business language and impact
• Ensure actions have owners and deadlines
• Support new payment-method launches and journeys from a performance perspective
• Ensure payment-performance requirements during product/tech design
• Produce weekly/monthly payment-performance reporting for senior stakeholders
• Provide clear commentary on changes and actions
• Track incidents, root causes and considered benefits
• Maintain documentation for payment journeys and performance expectations
