Aztec Services (Guernsey) Limited is seeking a Payments Team Lead within the Real Assets area in Guernsey. You will oversee day-to-day payment operations for multiple fund structures, ensuring timely processing and adherence to Aztec policies.

The role includes technical support and acting as a B signatory on administrative matters. You will manage the payments team, coordinate banking activities, and drive process improvements to deliver accurate records and proactive client service.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a similar role.
• General banking platform experience.
• Advanced computer literacy essential.
• Proven people management experience.
• Experience with fund structures beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Payments team to ensure accurate, timely payment processing from start to finish.
• Oversee client bank accounts ensuring positive balances and timely communication of changes.
• Meet payment deadlines and maintain 100% accuracy across banking portals and policies.

About the role:

Reports to Senior Manager As part of our Real Assets team in Guernsey, you will provide oversight of routine day-to-day processes to facilitate the delivery of payment operations for a large number of fund structures for one of our largest institutional clients. You will become a key part of an exciting client team, ensuring that all payments are completed on time and in line with our Aztec policies and procedures as well as providing technical support and "B" signatory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage Payments team to achieve accuracy and timeliness in payment processing from start to finish
• Manage together with Payments team the bank accounts of the client making sure that positive balances are kept at all the time and client is informed on time on any changes
• Ensure that all payment deliverables are met within defined payment deadlines and policies across various banking portals and ensuring 100% accuracy
• Identify areas of process improvement and discuss with line manager to implement the same
• Ensure all the internal and client trackers and reports are maintained and reviewed on regular basis and making sure that we can provide to the client accurate records
• Proactively drive the billing process, prepare analysis as required
• Ensure invoices are issued timely, accurate and complete by client’s guidelines and expectations
• Ensure staff are trained on electronic banking systems, co-ordinate the opening of new bank accounts and manage the implementation of any new banking systems and users
• Supervise the team of payment officers to include staffing, coaching, performance management and problem solving
• Act as “B” level 4-eyes signatory on administration matters, ensuring that company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar position
• General banking platform experience
• Advanced computer literacy skills are essential
• Proven people management experience
• Previous experience of working with fund structures would be beneficial, but not essential
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task
• Self-driven and highly motivated, proactive to client needs and able to work independently
• Solution orientated with strong analytical skillsAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Strong team-player
• Positive, flexible personality, easily adapting to changes and willing to undertake new tasks
• High level of integrity and dependability
