Halian Technology is seeking an experienced Payments Manager for a full-time, permanent opportunity within our client’s Customer Payments team. This is a hybrid role with offices in London or Bracknell office.

We’re looking for a commercially aware and strategically minded payments expert with strong experience in payment processing, optimisation, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and influence internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and ROI-driven payment solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in payments across strategic initiatives and operational delivery.
• Manage third-party payment providers, ensuring roadmaps and goals align with business strategy.
• Identify opportunities to reduce processing costs and optimise payment performance.
• Lead/support supplier selection and contract negotiations alongside procurement.
• Escalate and resolve critical payment issues, ensuring service improvements are implemented.
• Stay current on regulatory and technological changes in the payment space (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2).
• Represent the client in external forums, helping shape the payment roadmap.
• Define and maintain a single JLP-wide payments strategy and associated KPIs.
• Produce insightful payment performance MI to support data-driven business decisions.

Key Requirements:

• Significant experience in payments management across online and in-store (B2C environment).
• Deep knowledge of payment flows, regulation, optimisation, and compliance requirements.
• Proven track record in negotiating and managing strategic payment provider contracts.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Tech, and Operational teams to deliver strategic outcomes.
• Strong customer experience focus—balancing innovation, compliance, and risk.
• Recognised as a leader within the payments industry, with an active professional network.
