Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineering Team Manager to lead a Pavement asset team in the Southeast, based at either Basingstoke or Maidstone offices. You will drive health, safety and performance reviews while delivering the regional Forward Programme and Asset Management Plans for Pavement assets.

The role requires Chartered/Incorporated membership or a relevant degree with deep asset-management knowledge and governance to secure funding.

Qualifications

You will be a Chartered or Incorporated member, or have a relevant degree and extensive experience.
Experience in asset management decision making (capital investment, lifecycle costs, value optimisation).
Strong knowledge of technical standards, asset policies, operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and line manage engineers and technicians, ensuring health, safety and wellbeing, with performance reviews.
Produce regional Forward Program and Asset Management Plans for the Pavement asset.
Identify and prioritise maintenance, renewal and improvement needs with option studies and cost considerations.
Comply with governance processes for renewal schemes and evidence value for money to secure funding.
Manage resources including outsourced work and allocation of team bandwidth.
Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and supply chain to deliver objectives.
