Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking dedicated Domestic/Catering staff for Glasgow area, to clean patient areas and provide ward-level patient catering. Positions cover cleaning, laundry, curtain changes and porter/messenger duties across Acute Wards, Mental Health facilities and other sites.

Induction and training are provided; right to work in the UK is required. These are permanent, part-time roles with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all aspects Integrated Service (Induction training provided).
• Training in the use of all machinery used (Training provided).
• Knowledge of Health and Safety (Training provided).
• Knowledge of COSHH (Training provided).
• Knowledge of Lifting and Handling (Training provided).
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate (Training provided).
• Knowledge of Infection Control practices (Training provided).
• Driving licence is necessary for tasks involving driving duties.

Responsibilities

• All aspects of cleaning ensuring cleaning work schedules are followed.
• Operation of cleaning equipment (see attached equipment list).
• Removal and disposal of waste.
• Litter picking within 10m radius of buildings.
• Collect and distribute on site mail.
• Operation of mail equipment (see attached equipment list).
• Collection and onward transmission of specimens and sharps boxes.
• Follow work schedules as instructed.
• Report any faults to supervisor.
• Use equipment only as instructed.
