Sodexo is seeking a Patient Services Assistant to support meal service and domestic duties in a busy healthcare setting at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester. The role contributes to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The position involves patient meal service, cleaning, and maintaining high hygiene standards, with emphasis on patient dignity and comfort in daily tasks. Training will be provided, and the role offers a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working to high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control.
• Ability to work as part of a busy healthcare team.
• Strong communication with patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and ability to follow procedures, work schedules and training guidelines.
• Understanding confidentiality, health and safety, and maintaining patient dignity at all times.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all duties in accordance with the standards specified during training.
• Vacuum, wet mop, and damp clean allocated areas.
• Clean sanitary areas, floors, surfaces, furniture, and fittings.
• Clean beds in line with required cleaning standards.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general care of all cleaning equipment.
• Clean isolation rooms in accordance with procedures.
• Move light furniture as required to facilitate cleaning.
• Carry out floor maintenance activities as specified in the work schedule.
