Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Mobility Assistant at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. The role supports safe patient transfers, mobility exercises, and use of assistive devices under nursing/therapy supervision.

Essential duties include adherence to SOPs, documenting patient status, and ensuring safety with a goal of mobility three times per day. BLS certification must be completed within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Complete mobility assistant training and sign-off within two weeks of hire.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist safe patient transfers, mobility, and exercise using approved devices and lifts.
• Follow SOPs, identify safety hazards, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Document patient status and progress in the chart per site guidelines.
• Demonstrate safe mobility techniques and body mechanics during sessions.
• Ensure supervision by nursing or therapy staff and escalate as needed.
• Progress mobility to up to three times daily and never leave patients unattended.
• Perform environment checks and reduce risks during mobility sessions.
