Job description

Position: Ward Catering Supervisor

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Ward Catering Supervisor to cover Castle Hill Hospital (CHH) and Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) catering services.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise catering staff and ensure the delivery of high quality patient meals catering services that meet the needs of all patient groups.
• Maintain best practice in ordering, production, storage and service of patient meals.
• Plan and manage daily shifts, adaptively responding to roster changes as directed by line managers.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

Post: 32 hours over a 2‑week rolling roster pattern.

• Week 1 – Wednesday: 08:00‑13:30 & 14:30‑18:30 (HRI), Thursday: 07:30‑13:30 & 14:30‑18:30 (CHH), Friday: 07:30‑13:30 & 14:30‑18:30 (CHH).
• Week 2 – Wednesday: 08:00‑13:30 & 14:30‑18:30 (HRI), Thursday: 07:30‑13:30 & 14:30‑18:30 (CHH), Friday: 07:30‑13:30 & 14:30‑18:30 (CHH), Saturday: 14:30‑18:30 (CHH), Sunday: 14:30‑18:30 (CHH).

Additional Information

• Enhanced pay for weekends.
• Job does not meet UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa; HUTH will not issue a Certificate of Sponsorship.
• Work environment includes varying temperatures, freezers and requires standing and walking for frequent periods.
• Contract extends across both sites; flexibility in working hours is essential.
