Job summary

OhioHealth in the United States is seeking a part-time Patient Financial Services Associate to handle face-to-face inquiries about account balances, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance, and to guide patients on non-clinical questions.

You will interview patients, coordinate with state case workers, assist with Medicare deductible collections, and provide cost information. The role sits in the Multi Spec Follow Up Clinic, with Day shifts and a 24-hour weekly footprint.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Analytical skills to read instructions and make decisions.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to visit patient rooms and walk 4 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients face to face for financial assistance programs and Medicaid eligibility.
• Maintains the integrity of all patients requesting assistance.
• Collaborates with State of Ohio County Case Workers to apply and verify Medicaid eligibility.
• Visists face-to-face for collections of Medicare deductibles and inpatient copays.
• Receives and documents collections of med pay on auto accidents to ensure prompt payment.
• Handles on-site non-clinical inquiries, including irate or complaint situations.
• Quality reviews work done by outside eligibility vendors.
• Provides cost information to patients.
