Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for motivated individuals to join our Cleanliness Services Team as Facilities Assistants. The role spans Cleanliness, Catering and Portering across the Shrewsbury area, with involvement in satellite sites and supporting other teams.

Shift patterns include early, late, night and weekends, with full training provided. This is an alternate weekend working position and other patterns such as 6-12, 8-2, or weekend-only work may apply.

Qualifications

• Role is multi-skilled across Cleanliness, Catering and Portering.
• Shifts include early, late, night and weekend hours.
• Duties include cleaning hospital areas, transporting patients and equipment, and helping with food service.
• Must follow health and safety rules, infection control procedures and food hygiene standards.
• Physical tasks include lifting, moving equipment and walking long distances.

Responsibilities

• Clean hospital areas and support portering and catering tasks.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed.
• Assist in patient food service for patients, staff and visitors.
• Adhere to health and safety, infection control and food hygiene standards.
• Provide emergency support and assist patients and clinical teams when required.
