Job summary

Langford-based GP group is seeking a Patient Co-ordinator to be the first point of contact for patients seeking care and guidance within a supportive team.

You will help patients access the right service, manage bookings, and maintain accurate records, using EMIS and Microsoft Office in a patient-centred environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a customer-facing role is desirable.
  • Knowledge of EMIS or patient record systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for patients contacting the practice.
  • Help patients access the most appropriate healthcare service.
  • Manage appointment requests and bookings.
  • Provide excellent customer service both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Support patients with enquiries and administrative requests.
  • Create and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Process correspondence and documentation.
  • Work closely with GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Help ensure patients receive a safe, efficient and positive experience.
  • Every day is different, and every interaction matters.

Langford

£13 - £13 per hour NHS Pension + Monday-Friday shift pattern

As a Patient Co-ordinator, you’ll be the first person they speak to.

You’ll listen, guide, reassure and help patients access the right healthcare professional or service. It’s a role where your communication skills, empathy and ability to stay calm under pressure can genuinely make a difference to someone’s day.

What you’ll be doing

As a Patient Co-ordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our patient services team.

You’ll:

Hours

30 hour post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

What we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with customer service backgrounds in:

  • Retail
  • Hospitality
  • Reception
  • Front-of-house roles
You’ll be:
  • Comfortable speaking with people on the phone
  • Compassionate and patient-focused
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable using computers, email and Microsoft Office
  • Calm under pressure
  • Keen to learn and develop
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Commitment to delivering excellent service
  • Experience within a GP surgery or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of EMIS or patient record systems
