Job summary

Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a phlebotomist to support the practice clinical team in delivering prescribed patient care programmes. The role focuses on ensuring patient comfort, accurate blood collection, and proper sample handling within NHS services.

Under supervision and in accordance with guidelines, you will assist with vaccine storage and restocking, label samples accurately, and help maintain clean, ready-to-use clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the practice clinical team in provision and delivery of prescribed patient care programmes.
• Ensuring patient comfort and obtaining consent for blood collection.
• Collecting blood samples in accordance with training and procedures.
• Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity.
• Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and restocking.
• Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses.
• Clearing and restocking consulting rooms and preparing environments before, during and after patient care interventions.
