NHS Professionals is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust at Royal Berkshire Hospital. The role focuses on venepuncture in hospital settings with flexible hours to cover part-time or full-time arrangements.

You will work in the Phlebotomy ward, handling samples with careful attention to safety, labeling, and documentation while interacting with healthcare professionals and patients. NHS experience is preferred, with hospital ward exposure welcomed.

Formación

• NHS phlebotomy qualification or equivalent.
• Experience on hospital wards is advantageous.
• GP surgery candidates accepted; NHS experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform a range of venepuncture techniques in a variety of clinical settings and will work without direct supervision.
• Monitors and maintains the health, safety and security of self and patients during the venepuncture procedure. Practices within risk management/ occupational health legislation and Trust procedures.
• Collects samples from patients in high-risk categories and is aware of potential hazards. Able to follow agreed protocol to minimise risk to self and others.
• Ensures that blood sample bottles are accurately labelled and barcoded in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Perform telephone duties that include making and receiving calls from and to the phlebotomy unit, conveying sensitive information and advice to healthcare professionals, patients and their representatives.

Ward: Phlebotomy

Pay Rates: £14.05 per hour

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday between 07.00 to 17.00, Weekends 07.00 to 12.00

What you’ll need:

• NHS experience is highly preferable GP surgery candidates also accepted.
• Experience working on Wards is advantageous.
• Relevant Phlebotomy qualification.
• Part-Time and Full-Time candidates considered, flexible working hours available.
