Job summary

Bon Secours’ Speech Therapy department seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across all ages at Rappahannock General Hospital.

The role emphasizes thorough evaluations, treatment planning, and patient education, with collaboration across the care team. Licensure in state of practice is required; CCC-SLP preferred or achieved within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in current practice state.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred or required within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification preferred for some roles; required within 30 days for certain facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals, patient conditions, and medical history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct evaluations, develop discharge and treatment plans.
• Administer prescribed speech-language pathology treatments.
• Design rehabilitative programs addressing language, voice, fluency, swallowing and cognitive skills.
• Educate patients and families for home continuation of therapy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team and participate in care conferences.
