Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a staff Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders. You will establish goals, plan and deliver therapy, monitor progress, and document outcomes for discharge planning.

Under supervision of the Clinical Leader, you will collaborate with the care team to share patient information and ensure high-quality care. Hospital experience is preferred, with ASHA certification or CF/licensure required.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure.
  • ASHA Certification or CF/State Licensure.
  • Risk Category 1.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, establish goals, plan treatment, perform treatment, and assess treatment effectiveness.
  • Make discharge recommendations and promote communication of patient care information among team members.

Minimum Education
  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language pathology; graduate of an accredited program.
Minimum Work Experience
  • Experience in hospital setting preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Current state licensure.
  • ASHA Certified or pursuing Clinical Fellowship/Vermont State Licensure, effective 2005.
  • Risk Category 1.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
  • Proficient with evaluation and treatments of a wide range of communicative, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Including ability to complete swallow function studies.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payor requirements.
  • Training in voice evaluation and treatment (including pre and post op laryngectomies).
  • Training in Lee Silverman Voice therapy (preferred).
  • Training in Vital Stim therapy (preferred).
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
Pay Range = $40.66 - $60.09
