Job summary

Epsom and St Helier Hospitals is recruiting for a Patient Catering role at St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals. You will oversee day-to-day delivery of high-quality patient catering, supporting the Patient Catering Manager in strategy, policy development and ensuring safety, quality and cost-effective service.

The position requires experience in NHS or healthcare catering, staff supervision, and strong communication with clinical teams.

Qualifications

Food safety qualification and knowledge of healthcare catering.
Experience within NHS, healthcare or similar organisation.
Understanding of retail catering in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Ensure an appropriate structure to support delivery of Patient catering services.
Define subordinate staff responsibilities and develop managers to meet objectives.
Develop and maintain effective communication channels with staff, clinical teams and catering.
Ensure service delivery meets changing patient, visitor and staff requirements.
Monitor and evaluate performance and take corrective action where needed.
Assist service development with staff and ensure standards are met.
Ensure efficient use of resources and meet performance targets.
Develop and review policies and procedures related to the service.
