Job summary

The London Independent Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Patient Administrator to join the Administration department in Stepney Green, London. This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) offers a salary up to £28,500 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The role requires covering a flexible shift pattern and contributing to the smooth patient journey. Benefits include holiday entitlement, pension, private healthcare, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE at grades A–C or equivalent
• Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems
• Basic financial awareness
• Previous administration experience in a private healthcare environment would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the smooth running of the patient administrative process throughout the patient journey.
• Follow best practice process maps to provide an efficient, professional service to patients, visitors, consultants and staff.
• Deal with all patient queries efficiently and professionally.
• Manage all incoming and outgoing mail.
• Approve electronic bookings and update bookings received via email.
• Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Ensure appropriate Health and Safety measures for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors.
• Complete mandatory training as required

The London Independent Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £28,500.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The London Independent Hospital in Stepney Green is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Patient Administrator to join their team of staff in the Administration department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties

• Contribute to the smooth running of the patient administrative process throughout the patient journey.
• Ensure the Circle Health Group best practice process maps are followed, to provide an efficient, professional and standard service to all patients, visitors, consultants and staff.
• Ensure All patient queries are dealt with efficiently and professionally.
• To manage all incoming and outgoing mail.
• Approve electronic bookings received via the relevant system and update any booking received via email.
• Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicant Criteria

• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence
• Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems
• Basic financial awareness
• Previous administration experience in a private healthcare environment would be beneficial.
