Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to act as a liaison between patients, payers and healthcare teams. You will gather and verify demographic information, secure out-of-pocket payments, and maximize hospital reimbursement through accurate data entry and attentive service.

You will ensure compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and related regulations while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining precise records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• EMTALA/ HIPAA knowledge helpful.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient registration and insurance verification accuracy.
• Verify insurance benefits and authorizations where applicable.
• Handle patient inquiries and provide courteous service.
• Enter complete demographic information for revenue cycle processing.
• Scan and manage medical records and documentation.
• Maintain cash handling and log of payments.
