Job summary

The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for three Pathway Co-ordinators (Medical Secretary) on a full-time, permanent basis. You will edit and dispatch clinical correspondence, be a first point of contact for patients and staff, and ensure queries are answered professionally.

  • Applicants must be confident communicators with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels.
  • You will need to have proven organisational skills, good knowledge of IT systems, and be able to confidentially deal with queries from patients and staff.
  • Previous administration is essential, ideally in the NHS however full training on IT systems and processes will be provided.

The General Surgery & Urology Business Unit has an exciting opportunity to appoint three Pathway Co-ordinators (Medical Secretary) on a full time permanent basis.,

  • Editing and dispatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within agreed timescales and quality standard
  • Be a point of contact for patients and medical staff ensuring queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, T-Pro, Ormis, Cito and e-mail systems
  • Diary management
  • Telephone queries
  • Working to strict Trust and Government policies and Waiting list management and 18 weeks guideline
  • Supporting Medical Secretaries with booking patients for surgery
  • Support Medical Secretaries with general administration
