Mint People is seeking a talented Pastry Sous Chef to lead the pastry section in a high‑end kitchen at a stunning venue in Skipton. This role suits a creative pastry professional ready to bring ideas to a forward‑thinking team and work with quality ingredients.

You will head daily pastry operations, develop desserts and bakery items, mentor junior staff, and collaborate on events and afternoon teas. The position is 50 hours per week, offering £35,000 per year plus £2,000 tips, and includes meals

Qualifications

• Experience as Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous in a quality kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of patisserie, chocolate work, baking, and plated desserts.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the pastry section.
• Design and produce innovative desserts and baked goods.
• Maintain high standards of food presentation and quality.
• Oversee stock control, ordering, and section hygiene.
• Train and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with the wider kitchen team for events, banquets, and afternoon teas.
• Contribute to seasonal menu planning and development.
