Job Description

Are you a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef seeking a new opportunity to showcase your talents in a world-leading 5-star hotel environment? Join our pastry team at Sofitel London St James.

As the Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be supporting the Pastry Team as a member of our dedicated and passionate Kitchen brigade. You will be responsible for creating exceptional pastries and decadent desserts for our guests.

Bringing exceptional skills and an eye for detail to deliver our pastry menus to the highest standards, you will take pride in your work and remain unflappable in the high-pressure environment of our kitchen.

You will be well-versed in techniques and innovations in the pastry world, with excellent opportunities for personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop pastry creations.
  2. In charge of daily preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  3. Uphold rigorous standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety to guarantee the utmost quality and freshness.
  4. Contribute to menu planning and special event preparations.
  5. Drive efficiency in kitchen operations and uphold our uncompromising commitment to quality, ensuring every aspect of our pastry production meets the highest standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or similar role within a high-end culinary environment.
  2. Creative flair and a strong understanding of flavour combinations and presentation.
  3. Proficiency in a variety of pastry techniques, including decorating and plating.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen.
  5. Culinary degree or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  6. Please note you must be entitled to work in the UK as this position is not eligible for sponsorship.
