Job summary

Mayfield School in Torquay is seeking two Pastoral Assistants to join the Chestnut Centre in Brixham, supporting KS1/KS2 pupils with social and behavioural needs. The role focuses on learning support, emotional regulation, and targeted literacy/numeracy interventions.

Two permanents are offered: full-time (32.5 hours per week over five days) and part-time (26 hours per week over four days). Salary starts around £19,966.22 and terms are term-time only.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children with challenging and vulnerable behaviours.
• Knowledge of the primary curriculum and literacy/numeracy interventions.
• Thrive knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support learning in small groups and 1:1 sessions.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Support emotional regulation and behaviour management.
• Term-time schedule and school day hours.
