Job summary

Mayfield Chestnut Centre in Brixham is recruiting Level 2 Teaching/Pastoral Assistants to support Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils with social, emotional or behavioural needs.

The roles are fixed term until 31/08/2027 with term-time only hours (32.5 per week, 39 weeks per year). Start salary £19,966.22; 8.55am-3.40pm.

Candidates will have proven experience with challenging behaviours, knowledge of the primary curriculum and literacy/numeracy interventions; Thrive knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children with challenging and vulnerable behaviours.
• Knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Experience with literacy and numeracy interventions; Thrive knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy interventions and small-group work.
• Provide 1:1 support for learning and emotional regulation; contribute to safeguarding.
