Job summary

Mayfield School invites applicants to join our Chestnut Centre team in Brixham, supporting Key Stage 1 and 2 students with social, emotional, or behavioural needs. The role runs 32.5 hours over 5 days a week during 39 weeks of term time.

Starting salary for a Level 2 TA is £19,966.22 per annum, with potential for Level 3 contracts based on experience; fixed-term funding lasts until 31 August 2027, with possible extensions or permanency depending on funding and interview outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children with challenging behaviours.
• Knowledge of the primary curriculum and ability to support literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Knowledge of Thrive is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support children with challenging and vulnerable behaviours to improve educational and social outcomes.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy interventions within small groups and 1:1 where needed.
• Support emotional regulation and wellbeing in class and with individual pupils.
• Work as part of small class groups and follow the term-time schedule.
