Job description

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you'll work closely with students, Learning Mentors, Tutors, and Managers to ensure every student thrives. From providing emotional, social, and behavioural support to managing caseloads and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and group support in a holistic manner to students with SEN.
  • Identify and address behavioural or emotional barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans.
  • Monitor attendance and implement strategies to improve engagement.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and concerns are reported promptly.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably with SEN and ASD.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, empathetic approach with the ability to think creatively.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and diversity policies.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Training in areas such as ADHD, emotional literacy, or mental health first aid.
  • Experience with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or physical disabilities.
  • Familiarity with alternative employment pathways like apprenticeships or internships.
