What you’ll be doing:

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing students' emotional, social, and behavioural well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support tailored to the needs of students with SEN
  • Identifying and addressing emotional and behavioural challenges affecting learning
  • Working closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to develop personalised support plans
  • Monitoring attendance and implementing strategies to boost student engagement
  • Ensuring safeguarding policies are upheld and responding to concerns appropriately

About You:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar support role, ideally working with SEN or ASD
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, empathetic approach with problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, and diversity practices
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Training in areas such as ADHD, emotional literacy, or mental health first aid
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or physical disabilities
  • Familiarity with alternative employment pathways (e.g., apprenticeships, internships)
