Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

You will work within the Safeguarding, Attendance and Welfare Team to promote student wellbeing and a positive learning environment. The role involves supporting attendance, safeguarding procedures, building positive relationships with students, parents and external agencies, and handling welfare concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral support to students across the school.

  • Manage welfare concerns and signpost to appropriate services.
  • Complete administrative tasks to support safeguarding, attendance and welfare teams.
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning.

Pastoral Support Officer

Secondary School | Start ASAP | Full-Time

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their educational journey?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with students while also supporting key school functions behind the scenes.

Working as part of the school's Safeguarding, Attendance and Welfare Team, you will play a vital role in promoting student wellbeing, encouraging positive attendance, and helping to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing pastoral support to students across the school.
  • Assisting with attendance monitoring and implementing strategies to improve attendance.
  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and maintaining accurate records.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Managing welfare concerns and signposting students to appropriate support services.
  • Completing administrative tasks to support the safeguarding, attendance and welfare teams.
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
  • A calm, empathetic and professional approach.
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with students.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine passion for supporting student wellbeing and success.
