Job summary

Redborne Upper School and Community College is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer. The role focuses on supporting students emotionally, socially and academically, managing attendance, coordinating early interventions, and working with parents and external agencies.

The position is full-time (37 hours per week) during term time, with hours 8.00am–4.00pm (Mon-Thu) and 8.00am–3.30pm on Fridays, offering a competitive salary and generous pension benefits.

PASTORAL SUPPORT OFFICER

Start Date: October 2026 or ASAP

Contract: Full-time 37 hours per week. Term time only

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm

Salary: Level 3B (Point 6 - 8) - Actual Salary Range: £22,129.00 - £22,840.00 (dependent on experience).

About the Role

In this vital role, you will be a key point of contact for students requiring emotional, social, or behavioural support. You will work proactively to manage attendance, coordinate early interventions, support positive behaviour strategies and build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.

You will give administrative support to the Year Team, Safeguarding Lead and pastoral support to students ensuring we establish consistently high standards with regard to behaviour, uniform and attendance. The ability to work as part of a team and confidence to work with students, parents and external agencies is essential.

Working in a school requires you to have strong organisational and communication skills. There will be face-to-face interaction with students, members of staff, parents and external agencies.
