Job summary

Allestree Woodlands School is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to work with Heads of Year on pastoral matters, safeguarding and parental engagement. The role also involves mentoring and coaching vulnerable students and helping remove barriers to learning so they reach their full potential.

The position is permanent, 37 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with Grade 4 salary (£25,298–£27,443 actual; £29,542–£32,046 FTE).

Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring, coaching or working with young people.
  • Experience with students with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to challenge students to realise their potential and remove barriers to learning.

Job description

The Pastoral Support Officer will provide support to Heads of Year in pastoral matters and in particular with behavioural issues, safeguarding and parental engagement. The role also involves working closely with vulnerable students in a mentoring and coaching capacity. The person: The successful candidate will have experience of mentoring, coaching or working with young people, and experience of successfully working with young people with challenging behaviour.
