Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is recruiting a Pastoral Support Assistant for a specialist setting in St Albans. You will support pupils aged 11-16 across KS3/KS4, helping them settle, engage and progress. Start date 5th October 2026, Monday–Friday, 8:15am–3:30pm.

The role suits experienced TAs/HLTAs/LSAs or behaviour mentors who can build positive relationships and support pupils with SEMH, SEND or other needs. Experience with behaviour management is desirable.

Qualifications

Experience as TA/HLTA/LSA or pastoral support in schools.
Calm, patient and resilient
Confident managing challenging behaviour

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day pastoral and practical support to pupils as they settle into the day.
Support transitions between lessons and activities and encourage engagement.
Use behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to support pupils.
Monitor wellbeing and liaise with teachers to ensure consistent support.
