Job summary

Newlands Primary School is seeking a Pastoral and Safeguarding Leader to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role will lead safeguarding, attendance and pupil welfare, and engage families to ensure every child thrives.

You will work closely with senior leaders and external agencies to support our vulnerable pupils and drive inclusive practice across the school. The successful candidate will bring substantial safeguarding experience, be a strong communicator and advocate for child well-being,

Qualifications

• Substantial safeguarding and child protection experience.
• Champion welfare and wellbeing of children and families.
• Experience supporting behaviour to improve engagement in learning.
• Experience working with multi-agency partners.
• Able to lead safeguarding, pastoral care and inclusion with confidence.
• Demonstrate resilience, professionalism and commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding, attendance, pupil welfare, behaviour support and family engagement.
• Work with senior leaders, staff, families and external agencies to support vulnerable pupils.
• Support colleagues in safeguarding and inclusion and monitor record-keeping.
