Job summary

Nexus Multi Academy Trust, in partnership with Willow Park School in Sheffield, is seeking a Pastoral Leader to drive pastoral, behavioural and emotional support across the school. The role focuses on trauma-informed practice, relationship-building and safeguarding in a busy SEMH environment.

The successful candidate will lead on behaviour policy, support pupils in crisis or distress, and collaborate with staff, families and external agencies to ensure timely, effective support and positive

Qualifications

• Significant experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
• Understanding the impact of trauma, attachment difficulties and adverse childhood experiences on behaviour and learning.
• Practical experience of de-escalation techniques and physical intervention strategies.
• Ability to lead groups of pupils and deliver learning linked to social, emotional and personal development.

Responsibilities

• Lead pastoral, behaviour and engagement systems across the school.
• Support pupils' emotional regulation, wellbeing and mental health.
• Work directly with pupils requiring targeted interventions and mentoring.
• Support staff with behaviour management strategies and relational practice.
• Build positive partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.
