Job summary

The Federation of Kirkby Malzeard C of E and St Nicholas C of E Schools is seeking an enthusiastic Pastoral Lead to support vulnerable pupils and their families. You will deliver targeted interventions, monitor wellbeing, and collaborate with staff to remove barriers to learning.

With safeguarding expertise, excellent communication, and a proactive, compassionate approach, you will lead daily pastoral activities and engage with external agencies to create a safe, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths) or equivalent.
  • Experience in educational, social care or pastoral settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Pupil Support: Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to support emotional, social, and behavioural development.
  • Safeguarding Support: Support safeguarding and child protection processes.
  • Attendance Tracking: Monitor pupil attendance and punctuality, supporting families.
  • Family Liaison: Build trusting relationships with parents and carers.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Liaise with social care, local authorities, and health professionals.
  • Unstructured Time Leadership: Be present across the school to support pupils during breaks and lunchtimes.
  • Data & Records: Maintain detailed, sensitive digital records of pastoral interventions.
  • Breakfast club daily: greet and provide breakfast from 7.30am to 8.30am.
