As our Pastoral Lead, you will play a central role in removing barriers to learning and supporting our most vulnerable children. You will lead day-to-day pastoral work across the school, providing early interventions to address pupils' Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with families, teachers, and external agencies to ensure our children feel supported, valued, and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Pupil Support: Deliver bespoke 1:1 and small group therapeutic interventions to support children's emotional, social, and behavioural development.
- Safeguarding Support: Actively support safeguarding and child protection processes
- Attendance Tracking: Monitor and analyse pupil attendance and punctuality data, implementing early intervention strategies for families facing hurdles.
- Family Liaison: Act as a vital bridge between home and school, engaging closely with parents and carers to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Represent the school and liaise with external agencies (such as social care, local authorities, and health professionals) at family support and safeguarding meetings.
- Unstructured Time Leadership: Maintain a visible, trusted presence across the school, particularly supporting vulnerable pupils during break and lunchtimes.
- Data & Records: Maintain detailed, sensitive, and accurate digital records of pastoral interventions and safeguarding concerns.
- Breakfast club daily: meet and greet, provide breakfast and nurture at our breakfast club 7.30am - 8.30am

- Skills: Confident and sensitive communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict, offer mediation and de-brief students effectively.
- Attributes: Exceptional emotional intelligence, resilience, patience and a good sense of humour.
- Qualifications: Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent) alongside relevant pastoral, mental health and safeguarding training and experience.
