Job summary

Ashley Park School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking a Pastoral Coordinator in Epsom to lead the school’s pastoral and wellbeing agenda. You’ll work with the SLT to shape culture, support pupils emotionally, and coordinate specialist staff to re-engage learners.

The role focuses on trauma-informed approaches, safeguarding, and strong family partnerships, with opportunities to coach colleagues and improve whole-school practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead pastoral and behaviour provision across the school, developing consistent, trauma-informed and relational approaches that improve outcomes for pupils.
• Support and develop staff, coaching colleagues in positive behaviour support, restorative practice and strategies that help pupils regulate and return to learning.
• Champion pupil wellbeing, using behaviour, attendance and wellbeing information to identify barriers, respond to need and drive meaningful improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with families, therapists, external agencies and professionals to ensure pupils receive joined-up and personalised support.
• Lead through challenging situations, providing calm, confident support while maintaining high expectations and positive relationships.
• Contribute to safeguarding and school improvement as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Job Title: Pastoral Coordinator

Location: Ashley Park School, Epsom, Surrey KT18 7LR

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8am - 4pm

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: September 2026

About the Role

At Ashley Park School, we’re looking for an experienced and passionate Pastoral Coordinator to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the culture, wellbeing and behaviour of our school. This is a role where your influence will be felt every day. You’ll lead our pastoral approach, champion positive behaviour and help pupils develop the emotional regulation, resilience and confidence they need to succeed. Working alongside the Headteacher, teachers, therapists and wider professionals, you’ll bring together the right support around each pupil, helping them overcome barriers and re-engage with learning. You’ll also have the opportunity to coach and develop colleagues, strengthen whole-school practice and help create an environment where pupils feel safe, understood and ready to achieve.
