Job summary

Philosophy Education LTD. is seeking a confident Pastoral Officer for a secondary school in Rochester, to join on a temporary, full-time basis starting ASAP. You will work with pastoral and behaviour teams to support students throughout the day and handle incidents with calm professionalism.

The role requires strong communication, experience in student support, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour. DBS check is required; immediate availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Pastoral or student-support experience desirable.
• Ability to handle challenging behaviour with calm.
• Experience in school systems and recording information.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to pastoral and behaviour calls across the school.
• Support students with behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
• Deal confidently with challenging situations.
• Work with teaching, pastoral and senior staff.
• Record incidents and updates in school systems.
• Support students returning to lessons.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Provide general pastoral and administrative support.
