Job summary

Temple Learning Academy in Leeds is seeking a compassionate Pastoral Advocate to cover maternity leave across our Primary Phase. You will support wellbeing, attendance and engagement, building trusted relationships with pupils, families and staff to create an inclusive environment.

The role requires strong communication, safeguarding and inclusion commitment; you will work with external partners and adapt to individual needs, helping every child thrive during term-time plus training days.

About this Role

Maternity Cover, Term-time only plus Training Days. Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 16:00 (16:30 finish on Tuesday) andFriday, 08:00 - 15:30.

We are seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive Pastoral Advocate to join our Primary Phase team on a maternity cover basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families by providing pastoral support that promotes wellbeing, attendance, engagement and positive outcomes. Working closely with pupils, families, colleagues and external partners, you will help create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive. You will build trusted relationships with children, provide targeted support when needed and help ensure pupils have the confidence, resilience and sense of belonging needed to participate fully in school life.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with a child-centred approach and a commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and equal opportunities. You will be able to work collaboratively, respond flexibly to individual needs and contribute positively to a culture where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.
