Search Consultancy is urgently recruiting Passive Fire Protection Operatives for a major Norwich project. You will install batt and mastic systems and seal penetrations to ensure fire and acoustic integrity on a long-term site.

Accommodation is provided and you will work to FIRAS/BM TRADA guidelines with safety at the forefront. The role requires CSCS Fire Stopper qualifications, relevant experience, and the ability to work with hand tools and PPE.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card with Fire Stopper preferred
• DBS check preferred but not essential
• Proven experience in commercial batt and mastic fire-stopping applications
• Full personal hand tools and standard 5-point PPE
• Right to work in the UK

Responsabilités

• Batt & Mastic Installation: Cutting, fitting, and sealing coated mineral wool batt systems around openings, pipework, and ducts.
• Fire Sealing: Applying intumescent mastic, silicone sealants, and fire-rated compounds to ensure full fire and acoustic integrity.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensuring penetration seals adhere to FIRAS/BM TRADA guidelines and site safety standards.
• Site Preparation: Preparing substrates, openings, and services prior to applying fire-stopping seals.

Search Consultancy is looking for skilled, experienced Passive Fire Protection Operatives / Fire Stoppers for a major, long-term project in Norwich. We are partnering with a leading main contractor requiring operatives with strong expertise in batt and mastic systems for extensive penetration sealing across site.

This is a long-term contract offering high earning potential with accommodation/digs provided, making it an ideal opportunity for both local operatives and travelling sub-contractors.

The Role

• Batt & Mastic Installation: Cutting, fitting, and sealing coated mineral wool batt systems around structural openings, pipework, and duct penetrations.
• Fire Sealing: Applying intumescent mastic, silicone sealants, and fire-rated compounds to ensure full acoustic and fire integrity to precise manufacturer specifications.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensuring all installed penetration seals strictly adhere to FIRAS/BM TRADA guidelines and site safety standards.
• Site Preparation: Preparing substrates, openings, and services prior to applying fire-stopping seals.

Requirements

• CSCS Card: Valid CSCS Card (Fire Stopper / NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection preferred).
• DBS Check: Basic/Enhanced DBS check is preferred, but not strictly essential.
• Experience: Proven experience in commercial batt and mastic fire-stopping applications.
• Tools & Kit: Full personal hand tools (mastic guns, battery tools, knives, measuring equipment) and standard 5-point PPE.
• Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
