Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group are seeking an experienced NVQ-qualified Fire Stopper for an ongoing contract in Bristol. You will work with the site supervisor on day-to-day operations, carrying out compliant service penetration installations and guiding works through to handover.

The role requires on-site fire stopping in a commercial setting, with evidence photography, surveys, and snagging to ensure FIRAS standards and manufacturer data are met.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (Blue CSCS Card) is required.
• Proven on-site commercial fire stopping experience with quality finishes.
• Familiarity with digital compliance software.

Responsibilities

• Active Installation: Installing ablative batt, mastic seals, fire wraps, pipe collars, and mortar seals to service penetrations and linear gaps.
• Compliance Standards: Ensuring every seal meets FIRAS requirements and exact manufacturer test data.
• Survey & Prep Support: Assisting the supervisor with preliminary surveys, identifying required seals, and preparing service openings.
• Digital Logging: Taking clear photographic evidence and logging completed works.
• Handover & Snagging: Assisting with site snagging and final inspections to drive works across the line at project completion.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, NVQ-qualified Fire Stopper to join an ongoing contract in the Bristol area.

You will work closely with the site supervisor across day-to-day operations assisting with initial surveys, carrying out compliant service penetration installations, and seeing works through to final handover and sign-off.

Key Responsibilities

• Active Installation: Installing ablative batt, mastic seals, fire wraps, pipe collars, and compound mortar seals to service penetrations and linear gaps.

• Compliance Standards: Ensuring every seal meets FIRAS requirements and exact manufacturer test data.

• Survey & Prep Support: Assisting the supervisor with preliminary surveys, identifying required seals, and preparing service openings.

• Digital Logging: Taking clear photographic evidence and logging completed works

Requirements & Qualifications
