Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking kind, reliable individuals to join our casual bank of Passenger Assistants across Wiltshire, including Swindon and surrounding towns. This term-time-only role offers flexible hours and the chance to work on specific days or short-term assignments.

You will support drivers to ensure vulnerable students travel safely to and from school, with some journeys involving wheelchair assistance.

Responsibilities

• You will support drivers to ensure vulnerable students travel safely and comfortably to and from school.
• Some journeys may involve assisting with wheelchairs; confidence in handling mobility equipment is a plus.
• You will be part of a close-knit, supportive team that works weekdays during school start and finish times.
• Our drivers will pick you up from your front door and drop you off at the end of your shift.
• As a casual worker, you will have the freedom to choose when you're available by indicating hours and availability on your application.

Job description

Salary: £14.88 - £15.11 per hour (Inclusive of 12.07% enhancement in lieu of annual leave entitlement for casual workers)

Locations: Swindon, Calne, Chippenham, Melksham, Westbury, Warminster

Interviews: We are reviewing and interviewing applicants at County Hall in Trowbridge weekly. We will stop accepting applications when sufficient candidates have been received.

Please note; the working pattern for this role is term time only. The hours of work Passenger Assistants are offered as a casual employee will be in school term time.
