Cheshire East Council is looking for a part-time Transport Services Assistant to help passengers get on and off vehicles, carry luggage, and ensure comfort and safety. You will support the driver, operate lifts and wheelchair tie-downs, and assist with seating changes as required.
The role requires awareness of vulnerable people and the ability to read maps, with good communication across diverse backgrounds.
To assist passengers travelling on Transport Services vehicles to and from their destination, assisting with getting on and off the vehicle; carrying and stowing luggage and equipment as required; and to ensure the passengers' comfort and safety at all times.
To assist the driver in the provision of an efficient and effective transport service, having due regard to the needs of all passengers whilst in your care. Operate all auxiliary equipment fitted to vehicles such as lifts, steps, wheelchair tie -down & occupant restraint systems, the removal and replacement of seating where needed.
