This Merchandising Manager - Party role covers both traditional Party items and Fireworks. As the Merchandising Manager of this area, you will need to plan and trade core ranges, organize multiple promotions, and coordinate activities around key events across various channels. You will also manage a fixed buy area for Fireworks, which involves a niche operating model. This role is a 14-month maternity cover.

Your Role

As the Merchandising Manager, you will drive the business towards potential profit in-season and be responsible for planning a robust activity program throughout the year.

  • You will manage product critical path and lifecycle to maximize availability for both range and activity, providing accurate forecasts of sales, stock turn, and markdowns to achieve maximum profit.
  • You will analyze sales data to make recommendations on range control, budgeting, and selection for future seasons. You will be responsible for the P&L of these areas, ensuring commercial targets are met.
  • You and your team will work closely with the buying team to understand customer needs and competitor activity, helping to define and shape both short-term and long-term business strategies.
  • You will develop an understanding of the market, working with the buyer to define pricing strategies and identify key volume and value lines.
