500 Global is seeking a highly experienced investment professional to help advance our climate investment efforts, focusing on emerging markets and scalable solutions in the Global South. This role is crucial in identifying high-impact opportunities and supporting innovative companies addressing critical climate challenges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Source and evaluate high-quality direct investment opportunities from seed through Series A/B stages, focusing on climate sectors such as CleanTech, AgriTech, NatureTech, and related sustainability fields.
2. Lead investment execution across the full lifecycle—evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
3. Support founders and management teams in emerging markets by navigating regulatory environments, scaling in resource-constrained contexts, and building resilient, sustainable business models.
4. Monitor portfolio performance using financial, operational, and climate impact metrics; recommend follow-ons, strategic support, and exit pathways aligned with fund objectives.
5. Engage with limited partners, DFIs, catalytic funders, and co-investors to communicate the fund’s activities and reinforce alignment with the investment thesis.
6. Stay informed on emerging technologies, macro trends, and policy developments shaping climate innovation to aid investment decisions.
7. Collaborate with the broader investment team to drive portfolio success and foster partnerships within climate initiatives.

Key Requirements

1. Extensive venture capital or growth investing experience with a focus on climate sectors and scalable solutions in emerging markets.
2. Proven track record of supporting or building ventures that achieve measurable climate outcomes alongside strong financial returns.
3. Strong sector understanding of how AgriTech, CleanTech, and NatureTech operate in emerging markets, with experience scaling technology in resource-limited settings preferred.
4. Well-established network across the climate capital landscape, including DFIs, catalytic funders, LPs, and founder ecosystems.
5. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively represent the fund across diverse audiences.
6. Deep commitment to sustainability and ethical investment practices, aligned with 500 Global’s mission and values.
7. Location is flexible; suitable candidates can be based anywhere globally.
