Job summary

NHS Shetland is seeking a Food Services Assistant to join our Catering Team in Lerwick. This part‑time role supports patient care and staff meals with hands‑on food service, basic cooking, food handling and a strong commitment to hygiene.

Fridays are Servery shifts with customer-facing duties and stock control; Saturdays and Sundays cover the Main Production Kitchen, assisting in meal prep and keeping operations clean and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Fridays Servery: Customer-facing food service, basic cooking, food handling, stock control, cleaning and a warm, friendly service.
• Saturdays & Sundays Main Production Kitchen: Support the preparation of patient meals, food trolleys, and keeping everything clean, safe, and running smoothly.
