Job summary

The Cove School in Northbrook, IL is seeking a 2026-2027 Transition Job Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time role supports students 1:1 and in small groups at the K12 Campus, the Cove Career Center, and in community settings to build independent living and employability skills.

At the Cove Career Center, you will assist with budgeting, health, nutrition, fitness, meal planning and social skills; at work sites you’ll model tasks, gather progress data, and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Meet with student workers to review job description and set personal goals
• Review work expectations and procedures with students (hours, attire, sign in/out, calls for sickness/late, breaks)
• Discuss and practice appropriate social interactions with supervisor, coworkers, and customers
• Practice asking work-related questions and provide feedback
• At work sites, learn and perform tasks with students; gradually fade support
• Set up weekly 10–15 minute progress review meetings with site supervisor
• Coordinate exit interviews to summarize overall performance and employability
• Suggest strategies for approaching difficult tasks
• Regularly meet with Transition Supervisor to report progress and concerns
