Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Systems Accountant to maintain the financial accounting system, resolve technical issues and drive system efficiencies in a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will lead on training users, upgrades and automation of financial tasks, and ensure the chart of accounts remains compliant while developing reporting dashboards.

Qualifications

• You should hold an AAT or equivalent qualification and have significant systems management experience in a local government finance setting.
• You will be a confident communicator able to foster strong relationships with flexibility to changing priorities.
• Experience with finance systems, dashboards and reporting is desirable.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and chart of accounts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Train and support system users in effective use of the finance system.
• Lead or support finance system upgrades and integration projects.
• Drive system improvements including streamlining workflows and automation of repetitive financial tasks.
• Maintain the chart of financial account codes in line with financial regulations and code of practice.
