Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service in England is seeking a Systems Accountant to join our finance team. You will maintain the financial accounting system, resolve technical issues, and develop financial reporting dashboards to enhance accuracy and insight.

This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) offers flexible working, ongoing professional development, and access to LGPS. The post supports a hybrid working arrangement in line with organisational needs.

Qualifications

• AAT or equivalent qualification with significant systems management experience in local government finance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Finance Manager, maintain the financial accounting system and resolve technical issues.
• Train and support system users in effective use of the finance system.
• Lead or support finance system upgrades and integration projects.
• Drive system improvements including streamlining workflows and automation of repetitive financial tasks.
• Maintain the chart of financial account codes in line with financial regulations and code of practice.
