Job summary

Legacy Leisure at Plas Menai is seeking a dedicated Swimming Teacher to deliver Learn to Swim lessons for various ages and abilities, following Swim Wales frameworks. The role includes occasional crash courses, progress tracking on tablets, and adherence to health and safety policies.

Applicants must hold NRASTC and Swim Wales Level 2 or equivalent, with CPD commitment. Welsh language skills are highly advantageous and a role requiring flexibility across mornings, evenings, weekends and bank

Qualifications

Ability to clearly explain, break down, and demonstrate stroke mechanics and water safety.
Adapt instruction for group classes and 1-to-1 sessions across ages.
Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

Deliver group and one-to-one swimming lessons following Swim Wales frameworks.
Deliver a crash course at least once per year.
Maintain high-quality lessons aligned with standards and work schemes.
Deliver water safety competencies 'Swim Safer, Smarter, Stronger'.
Engage learners with clear explanations and demonstrations.
Record progress on tablet after each lesson and communicate updates.
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
Lifeguard own sessions in line with local NOP/EAP (NRASTC required).
Develop independent professional development through CPDs hosted by the company.
Maximise retention of swim school participants through motivation and customer care.
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management.
Proactively improve the swim lesson programme.
